The Green Horizon Project
Restoring the Land. Renewing the Future.
The Green Horizon Project is one of the Eternal Legacy Foundation’s flagship environmental restoration initiatives — a bold effort to restore the health of Texas lands, revitalize ecosystems, and inspire a new generation of environmental stewards.
Our mission is to restore balance between people and the planet by planting trees that heal the soil, clean the air, capture carbon, and renew life. Through strategic reforestation and community partnerships, we are creating living corridors that protect farmlands, restore biodiversity, and help Texas breathe again.
The project begins in Central Texas and Northwest Texas, two areas where climate shifts, drought, and wind erosion are most severe.
Together, these sites form a cross-state belt of renewal, uniting forests, grasslands, and canyons under one shared goal: a greener, stronger, more resilient Texas.
Over the next decade, the Green Horizon Project has projected to plant more than 500,000 trees across multiple acres of land, beginning with Central Texas and expanding north and west. Each site will serve as a living model of conservation, education, and long-term environmental impact.
Environmental Benefits:
Cleaner Air – Each tree acts as a living filter, absorbing carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen oxides while releasing pure oxygen into the atmosphere.
Stronger Soil – Deep roots anchor and enrich the land, preventing erosion and restoring vital nutrients. Shelterbelts cut wind velocity by half, keeping soil in place and crops protected.
Healthier Water – Tree canopies capture rainfall and reduce runoff, improving groundwater recharge and water quality. Riparian buffers along creeks and rivers protect waterways from pollution.
Revived Biodiversity – Native oaks, pines, and flowering trees create habitats for hundreds of bird, pollinator, and mammal species. Each corridor becomes a haven for life to return and thrive.
Cooler Microclimates – Trees naturally lower surrounding temperatures, easing heat stress for wildlife, agriculture, and nearby communities.
The Green Horizon Project is as much about people as it is about trees. We work partners across Texas, the United States, and the Earth to plant, monitor, and maintain each site.
The project is supported by a blend of grants, corporate sponsors, and public donations. Each contribution directly funds tree planting, maintenance, and long-term ecosystem monitoring.
By 2030, the Green Horizon Project will stand as one of the largest public reforestation collaborations in modern Texas history — a living legacy of renewal stretching from the Hill Country to the Panhandle. Every tree planted will tell a story of resilience. Every acre restored will represent hope taking root.
